Overview
Cornerstone is a training management system for faculty, staff and student employees. Employees register for instructor-led training (ILT), online modules and assigned training sessions through this portal.
Users request assistance with questions about or issues with features such as training searches, transcript reviews or event scheduling through the Cornerstone support request. To have your course added to Cornerstone, submit the Cornerstone Course Packaging request. Requests are subject to Human Resources approval.
All student workers have a Cornerstone account. Health Sciences students should visit the HIPAA website for training and other resources.

Features and Benefits
Key features include:
Email reminders. Once registered, auto-generated emails remind a user of the course, time and date.
ECU-specific training. Departments and other units can add their training to the Cornerstone portal. Submit the Cornerstone Course Packaging request.
Events Calendar. From the menu bar, tap Learning, then choose Events Calendar.
LinkedIn Learning Integration. Online learning catalog of over 15,000 topics that are recorded on your transcript.
Mandatory employee training. All employees are assigned these mandatory online training modules through Cornerstone:
- Phase 2 New Employee Orientation
- Employee Best Practices in Information Security
- Diversity, Inclusion, and Equal Opportunity at ECU
- Conflicts of Interest, External Professional Activities for Pay, and the AIR System (EHRA Employees Only)
- Other training as assigned (department, certification, etc.)
Mandatory training is found under the Assigned section of an employee's Cornerstone home page.
Training Transcript. From the menu bar, tap Learning, then choose View Your Transcript.
Training Search:
- Type an interest into the home page search bar - suggestions pop up.
- From the main menu Learning item, choose Browse for Training.
- Click a course in the Events Calendar and choose Request.
